A 36-year-old Diamond Harbour woman faced 35 charges after police searched a property in a stolen mail investigation on Monday.
Anna Leigh Hunter was granted a registrar’s remand at the Christchurch District Court today and did not need to appear in court before a judge.
She was remanded on bail to appear again on January 11.
Hunter has entered no pleas to 31 charges of dishonestly using credit cards in Christchurch, one of attempting to dishonestly use a credit card, two of receiving credit cards and being reckless about whether they were stolen, and one of possession of a pipe for smoking methamphetamine.
The police allege the offending took place from September to December.
They said in a statement on Monday that they had found more than 70 pieces of stolen mail while executing a search warrant at a Diamond Harbour property.
The investigation followed months of reports of mail being taken, and a stolen credit card being used to buy groceries, cigarettes, alcohol, and petrol.
